Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 7, 2026

The short version: Expenbot does not collect, store or share any personal data. We don’t run servers, we don’t use analytics or tracking, and we can’t see your expenses.

What stays on your iPhone

Everything you log — amounts, categories, merchants, notes, voice input, receipt photos and scans — is processed on your device using Apple Intelligence and stored locally in the app.

Works offline

Expenbot doesn’t need an internet connection and makes no network requests of its own. The only feature that uses the internet is optional iCloud sync, handled by Apple. The first time you log by voice, iOS may download its on-device speech model for your language.

iCloud backup and sync

If you turn on iCloud, your data is synced through your own private iCloud account, managed by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We have no access to it. You can turn this off at any time and keep everything on your iPhone only.

What we don’t do

Permissions

Expenbot may ask for access to the microphone and speech recognition (to log by voice), the camera (to scan receipts) and your photo library (to pick a receipt). These are used only on your device, only when you choose to, and can be changed in iOS Settings.

Your control

You can export all your data to CSV at any time, and delete all data from within the app or by deleting the app (and its iCloud data in iOS Settings).

GDPR and other privacy laws

Because Expenbot does not collect or process any personal data on our servers, we are not a data controller of your expense data. Your rights under the GDPR and similar laws remain fully in your hands: your data lives only on your devices and in your iCloud.

Children

Expenbot does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date above.
